Hello, I’m Olivia
Project manager. Parent. An expatriate based in New York, United States.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn't in the long-range plan. Like many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Lantern Quartz Field
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in United States.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in United States
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site isn't:
- An official tourism resource
- Paid review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in United States goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in New York or anywhere in United States, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Olivia
